St Catherine's

Ministry For Persons
With
Disabilities

Mission Statement

To be a clear and strong voice for persons with disabilities in our parish as well as our community.

To provide a forum to enhance the lives of the disabled.

With God's help, to advocate with the disabled our quest for spiritual, social and personal growth.

St. Catherine's Ministry for Persons with Disabilities meets monthly on the 4 th Monday at 6:30 pm in the Siena Room. We invite you to join us as we explore the problems of barriers, either real or imagined, and how they affect the quality of life for persons with disabilities. Our focus is to educate ourselves and the parish on disabilities. Each of our members brings to the group a different perspective on the disability that they are involved with. Last year we enjoyed speakers and videos on Developmental Disabilities, Mental Illness, The Effects of Stroke, and The Ten Commandments of Communicating with Persons with Disabilities. We have helped at the Special Olympics, Souper Supper, and attended the Orange Park's Mayor's Council on Disabilities. With an increasing membership we will work to insure that all members of St. Catherine's with disabilities and their families feel welcome.
